Tarot For Writing: Creating 3-D Characters With Arwen Lynch Poe

This may be old news to some of you, but I just ran across it on my Facebook page. Always love (free) writing classes. At least I think it's free. It does mention fundraising, but I didn't see where it said anything on either the facebook or blogtalk radio page about donations or a fee. I asked, but haven't received a response as of yet :) Maybe someone knows...?

Anyway, if you're interested, here's the info posted on the FB page:

Writer's Village University's FREE 7-Week Creative Writing Course

Writer's Village University is once again offering their Free F2K Creative Writing Course.  Class begins April 7, 2010 and runs for 7-weeks.  Registration closes April 5th, so hurry and sign up!

I took this class years ago, when I was just learning to write and loved it. I also purchased a paid membership (and loved that, too). It's an awesome place to learn the craft of writing, or to brush up on your skills. These days they offer tons more courses to choose from than they did back when I was a member. It's well worth spending the $69 for a year membership  (or $14 monthly).

To learn more (and check out the AWESOME course they offer), visit the Writer's Village University home page. To register for the Free F2K Creative Writing Course, go to: http://writersvillage.com/amember/signup.php .

Happy Writing!

Have you ever discovered the course or class you've been wanting or needing to take has already been presented? Or, do you need or want to take a certain course, but don't know if it's being offered? If so, you should check out the AnnounceOnlineWritingClass Yahoo group. The loop is privately run and is not affiliated with any one writing group. It's simply a centralized place to find out what's available for classes online. Most of the classes you will see here are sponsored by RWA chapters, but there are a few other reputable agencies providing classes. This is an announcement only loop, no discussions allowed. To join, click here or send a blank email to: Announceonlinewritingclasses-subscribe@yahoogroups.com or simply visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Announceonlinewritingclasses/ Here's another Yahoo group I just discovered. It's an announcement loop that notifies you of any upcoming agent and/or editor info, mostly to do with blogging. Editors, Agents and Blogs, OH MY Here's the blurb from the group homepage: Description This group is designed for serious writers, who are trying to break into publishing or "break out" to the next level of publishing. Finishing Your Novel

Check out this writers resource by Timothy Hallinan. There's a section on his website entitled Writers Resources, where he guides and encourages struggling writers to finish and/or begin their book.
I’m offering the Writers' Resources section, which is intended to get people to that blessed point where they can type the words THE END. So if you’re among those who want to finish (or even begin) a novel, check this section out – there may be something that you’ll find helpful.
I spent half a day reading through Timothy's exercises and suggestions. Hopefully, this will help with finishing my own WIP's. If you're experiencing the same dilemma, I suggest you go on over and read Timothy's suggestions. Happy Writing

Interested In A Free Novel Writing Course?

Interested in a FREE 2 year Novel Writing Course? If so, you can read about it here. The two year long course is presented by Lazette Gifford and will take place on Holly Lisle's Forward Motion for Writers forum. Below is a snippet about the course I pinched from the forum. Happy Novel Writing!

Year One topics: Writing Basics: Ideas, Genres, Themes, Conflict and more Character development Worldbuilding Outlining Writing, including what to do when you get stuck Year Two topics: Completing your first draft The second draft Final edits Submission You might also consider buying the 2YN: Year 1 book, which is available in PDF (Download) format and which you can print out. This is the material that I'll present in the class, so it's not necessary that you have it. However, some people have found it helpful to have the book since they can look ahead and do the work in an order that is more natural to them, though they cannot post material before the class is presented on the boards. It is also helpful so you can do the work even if they are not able to get to the computer on days I put the material up. As always, there are no fees or special requirements, other than you be a member of Forward Motion. If you are interested, just post to this thread and I'll add you to the board when it's open.
